Greetings

Words cannot express how overwhelmed I am, as well as pleased, with the outcome of the May 18th election. It is truly an honor to be elected to lead Washington County and I am very grateful for the confidence you have all expressed in me.

This most recent adventure all started with a petition that was circulated to recruit me as a candidate for Washington County Chair. The 700 people who signed that petition started us all down a path that eventually led to this victory. But everyone played a big role in this tremendous achievement, from those who circulated the petition, to those who signed it, to all the volunteers who helped and then the 40,000 plus Washington County voters who supported me. Thanks to each and every one of you!

I will not be sworn into office as the chair of the commission until January 2011. Regardless, there is still a lot of work to be done during the next few months. And, maybe more importantly, I still want and need to hear from all of you. So, my Web site will remain active for the time being. It will still be possible to send e-mails to me, sign up for my eNewsletter and also check my calendar. So I hope to continue to receive suggestions and questions from everyone.

In the meantime, thank you again for all your support and confidence. You can rest assured I will work hard for you, having earned your votes!

Andy

From The Oregonian, June 19, 2010:

"To understand how Andy Duyck dominated the race to become Washington County chairman, look no further than the small farming community of Verboort. Duyck, who owns a machine shop there, found overwhelming support not only from Verboort residents but also from voters in other rural regions of the county who have repeatedly picked him for elected office.
